TFN Employment declaration form

When you start working for a new employer you will need to fill out a Tax File Number declaration form.

Information you provide in your TFN declaration form will allow your employer to work out how much tax to withhold from payments made to you. If you do not complete the declaration form you may be taxed at a higher rate.

The Tax file number declaration (NAT 3092) is made up of two parts:

1. the first part is the instructions

2. the second part is the form you need to complete and give to your payer (employer)

If your payer (employer) currently lodges their TFN declaration reports electronically, you may be able to complete an electronic TFN declaration form. See your employer for more details.
