Relationship support services

  • Relationships are not always easy

Relationships are not always easy; they have their highs and their lows. People have different ideas of what a relationship is and what they would like to get from one. Since relationships don’t come with instructions, what works for two people together may not work for another two.

Often there is change that happens along the way. People change, situations change, finances change, the family gets bigger or the family gets smaller.

All relationships have shaky times but that doesn’t mean they need to end, it just may mean it’s a sign that you could do with some help. There are some good services out there that can help to steer you through these shaky times and get back to creating a happy, healthy relationship where both people share the good times and support each other through the tough ones.

  • Family Relationships online

Family Relationships Online is the Australian Governments initiative that provides all families, together or separated, with access to information.  This could be about issues, ranging from building better relationships to sorting out disputes. It also helps families to find out about a range of services to help them to manage relationship issues.

You can visit their webpage at http://www.familyrelationships.gov.au or The Family Relationship Advice Line on 1800 050 321. It provides information on family relationship issues and can also refer callers to local services that can provide assistance.

All callers are treated as anonymous. However, when you call, you will be asked for a few details which will help identify you should you call again. This will mean that you will not have to repeat all the same information each time you ring. Alternatively, you may elect not to provide any identifying information and be treated as a new caller next time you call.
